The works of Pierre de Ronsard, a Vandomese gentleman. Augmented with several poems by the author that did not appear in the previous edition. Lyon, Thomas Soubron, 1592, 5 vol. in-12, 12 ff - 6711 pp. -12 ff. - 495 pp. - 4 ff. - 429 pp. badly chif. 424 - 190 pp. 1 ff. - 164 pp. - 1 f. - 1 f. bl.- 260 pp. - 2 ff. 256 pp. - 405 pp. - 1 f., red morocco, flat at the Du Seuil, smooth back, decorated with fleur-de-lys, gilt tr. (rel. rewrapped). Eighth collective edition, the second posthumous one and the penultimate one published in the 16th century. It was established from the Buon edition of 1587 and has been augmented by several unpublished pieces. It includes 5 identical portraits of Ronsard, one portrait of Charles IX and one of Henri III. A frontispiece portrait has been added to volume I as a reprint. This is a very rare complete edition of 5 volumes. Restoration of the title, one restored portrait and qq; marginal tears on pp. 229-240 in volume V, qq. restorations on the spines and qq. mq. on the coif. in volumes II and V. Qq. scattered freckles and qq. slightly short trimmed leaves. Brunet 1375. Tear with missing pp.366 Volume III.
