Correspondence of sixteen letters and signed autograph postcards addressed to the publisher PORTERET Circa 1929, in various formats. Correspondence relating to Rouault's work and his money worries. On some of the letters is his daughter's handwriting. Mr. Porteret will publish in 1929 Paysages légendaires illustrated by Georges Rouault. "I am an old Chinese from old China, born in Paris, Ile de France in Belleville. An old monkey who is not taught to make the grimace that was born making it. The danger with me, I repeat, is to believe that I can make do with a Russian salad of some kind, I cannot take bladders for lanterns, light for darkness. [...] ».
