Pair of cufflinks in yellow gold (583 / 56 zolotniks) and si - Lot 137
Pair of cufflinks in yellow gold (583 / 56 zolotniks) and silver (min. 800). The oval plate in the centre is adorned with the Imperial Bicephalous Eagle, with a facetted red stone and a rose-cut diamond, set in grain setting, on a background of radiant colourless enamel. The grained edges, that of the plate underlined by a frieze of small antique or modern eight-cut diamonds in gem-set. The shuttle-shaped mounting, enamelled in succession on a radiating wavy background. Hallmark of style imitating SAINT-PETERSBOURG (for 1899-1908). Goldsmith's hallmark resembling that of Mikhail PERCHIN, head of the FABERGE workshop from 1886 to his death, but probably apocryphal. Total gross weight: 13.8 g. - Dim. tray : 21 x 17 mm. Small enamel wears, some diamond chips and scratches, one stone missing.
