ENGLAND, early 18th century Onion watch in gold (750) yellow. Case decorated with a band engraved with openworked foliage scrolls, with birds and punctuated with a cartouche centred on a grotesque mask, at 6 o'clock, or an oval medallion decorated with a view of a village, at 12 o'clock. Unsigned white enamelled dial, unsigned, index with Roman numerals for the hours, railway and Arabic numerals for the minutes in black. Belliere and shaft in (750) pink gold, posterior. Movement with verge escapement. Engraved and signed platinum plate S. De CHARMES, LONDON. Cock openworked with symmetrical rinceaux and adorned with a winged head of Love. Dust bell in silver (min. 800), signed S. De CHARMES, London, and presenting a back window showing the autonomy dial. At the bottom: Goldsmith's mark I.L. for John LEE. Second case in (750) yellow gold with repoussé decoration of a mythological scene in a polylobé cartouche, on a grained background, depicting Diana sitting under a tree and her companion showing a love sounding her trunk among dogs, framed by four mantling with bust hunters and four reserves of openworked scrolls. Bezel en suite with hunting trophies in small mantling. In the background: Initial S.G. under a fish for Stephen GOUJON. Pinned back to the Owl. Watch: Gross weight: 96.5 grams. - Diameter : 40 mm. Second case : Gross weight : 32,9 g. - Diameter : 49 mm. Wear and tear, some shocks, hair and small chips on the dial, small hole drilled in the second case. A screw fixing the movement to the case middle is missing.
