Brooch in the shape of a frog in sculpted grey-green labradorite, set in yellow gold (56 zolotniks / 583) and with eyes adorned with small rose-cut diamonds, in a closed setting. Pin in yellow gold (56 zolotniks / 583). Goldsmith's mark, stamped twice: Wilhelm REIMER (1835-1908). Circa 1880-1900. Gross weight: 11.76 g. - Length: 2.6 cm. Some scratches, small crack at the hinge of the pin. With a suedecloth case from Maison FABERGE, signed. The jeweller Wilhelm Carl Reimer was a member of the Fabergé family. Born in the town of Pernovo (today Pärnu, Estonia), like Gustav Fabergé (1814-1893), founder of the House of the same name and father of Karl, he had married Gustav's sister Carolina Fabergé (1798-1873). He worked for his in-laws and on his own account.
