A large gilded bronze table clock featuring a Cupid offering a basket of roses to a seated woman holding a wreath of roses. White enamel dial, signed "PLANCHON à Paris," with hour and minute markers in black Arabic numerals. Mechanical movement with key-winding. Movement plate stamped “J.E.D.” and dust cover signed “PLANCHON Paris.” White marble base, rounded at the front and partially fluted, decorated with a pastoral trophy and two garlands of flowers against a background of openwork latticework on the sides, and resting on six disc-shaped feet. 50 x 34 x 27 cm. Wear to the gilding, scratches; a previous damage to the keyhole has been restored; one missing hand; chipping and a few chips in the marble.
