According to Claude MICHEL, known as CLODION A pair of gilded bronze candelabra featuring a little girl and a faun holding two arms of light. Circular bases in molded white marble adorned with a string of pearls, resting on a four-legged turned base in gilded bronze. Unsigned. Louis XVI style, early 20th century. H.: 37 cm. Signs of wear, scratches, spots of oxidation, a few chips and small cracks; the mountings for the little girl’s lamp arms need to be re-examined. Clodion’s original model, dating from around 1775, is housed at the Louvre Museum in Paris [OA 5207].
