[Paul VERLAINE] Drawing; graphite; 10.2 x 7 cm on view (under glass). Amusing caricature of Verlaine (1844-1896), front view, wearing a cap. It is captioned in ink: "Portrait de Verlaine par Eug. Carrière". A note on the reverse indicates that it comes from the former Gallimard collection. Eugène CARRIÈRE (1849-1906) painted a famous portrait of Verlaine in 1890, now in the Musée d'Orsay.
