Charlotte PERRIAND (1903-1999)
Rare dining-room table, circa 1965.
In sipo, with a thick rectangular top with chamfered edges, punctuated by false tongues and circular covers concealing threaded rods, resting on four elliptical legs arranged towards the center and assembled with lag bolts.
H. 73.4 cm; W. 200 cm; D. 85 cm.
Wear, scratches, discoloration, rubbing, slight dents and traces of felt under the legs.

Unlike the rectangular tables usually produced by Steph Simon, our example does not feature parallel grooves at the edges of the long sides, giving it a distinctly rarer character, similar to the model made in 1935 for Paul and Ange Gutmann and the one presented at the 1936 Salon des Arts ménagers.
