ATTRIBUTED TO MAISON GRIPOIX Important gilded metal brooch featuring a standing vase with gadroon and foliate frieze decoration, filled with sprigs of lily of the valley, the leaves in translucent green glass and the bells in opaque white glass. Fastening system on reverse. Size: approx. 11.5 x 10.5 cm. Small chips or cracks to some leaves, one strand missing. This brooch can be compared with the set made by Gripoix for Christian Dior in 1950, the original of which was exhibited at the Royal Ontario Museum in 2017 for the 70th anniversary of the creation of the House of Dior, as well as with set no. 739 in the Sotheby's sale in Geneva on November 11, 2011.
