FRANCE, second half of the 19th century GASTINNE-RENETTE, Paris. Pistols (from a pair). Percussion lock on capsule, engraved with white polished scrolls, ornate hammer en suite. Octagonal barrel with gray-black patina, marked "Fni par Gastinne Renette à Paris" and numbered 1 in a medallion on the band and engraved with thunder scrolls. Scratched. Cal. 12 mm. Walnut shaft with carved foliate scrolls and partially decorated squared stock. Cut, engraved and polished iron fittings, such as trigger guard with finger rest and oval fretted pommel. Barrel length: 26.6 cm - Overall length: 41.3 cm. As is; Wear, particularly to the patina of the barrel, scratches, bumps and small chips; some surface oxidation.
