FRANCE, 19th century Infantry non-commissioned officer's uniform sword, model 1884. Gilt brass hilt with chamfered limb, oval beaded quillon and turned pommel. Fuse with double iron filigree. Pomegranate keyboard. Counter-keyboard on ball joint (blocked). Straight, diamond-shaped blade with two cutting edges, two middle edges and four hollow sides. Blade length: 81 cm. - Total length: 98.5 cm. Without scabbard. As is. Wear, notably to gilding, scratches and a few bumps; oxidized blade, with a few paint spots. ATTACHED: Small infantry officer's saber, model 1821. Two-branch bronze hilt decorated with rosettes and laurel leaves. Leather spindle and copper filigree. Slightly curved, single-edged blade with two hollow sides and flat back. Blade length: 71.7 cm - Total length: 85 cm. Without scabbard. Poor condition; leather and filigree missing; brass tarnished and stained; bumps; oxidized blade.
