FRANCE, first half of the 19th century Infantry rifle, model 1822 T bis (composite). Flat-bodied flintlock lock, signed "M[anufactu]re R[oya]le de Châtellerault", modified to capsule percussion. Round barrel, dated 1837, marked "MR" and punched. Wide rifling. Cal.18 mm. Breechblock marked "1822 T bis". Walnut barrel and cheekstock, marked "TULLE" (x2) with maker's stamp (no pastille), dated "August 1837" and hallmarks. Iron fittings, hallmarked. Barrel length: 103 cm - Total rifle length: 141.5 cm. Without ramrod. As is. Wear, scratches and a few knocks; wood stains; rifling to be put back into play; some old oxidation.
