Louise de COLIGNY-CHÂTILLON, known as LOU (1881-1963) aviatrix
She was Guillaume Apollinaire's great love and the recipient of Lettres à Lou. P.A.S., L.A.S. and autographed photograph, 1961.
Paris, October 5, 1961 (4 pages in-fol.). "This is not my will," but the arrangements to be made after her death. She has "a great fear of being buried alive", and wants her doctor to record her electrocardiogram and administer "an intra-cardiac adrenaline injection. [...] This is my absolute wish. I want to be dressed in white silk pyjamas". She wants the ivory Christ from her bedroom, her black rosary, her blue Imitation of Jesus Christ and the portrait of Charles Cousin to be placed in her coffin. She wanted a 3rd-class burial, with only a few red roses on her coffin, and "as few people as possible" at her funeral. She wants to be laid to rest in the Passy cemetery next to Charles Cousin. She lists the people to be contacted urgently after her death, and indicates that her will has been deposited with Me Mahot de la Quérantonnais. She signs "Louise de Pillot de Coligny".
November 25, 1961 (14.5 x 7.5 cm). Photograph by Reney (signed on the back by the Parisian photographer), showing Lou in profile bust. Autograph signed letter: "I have no friend more adorable than Mignon. I love her with all my heart. Loulou".
