Straight desk in rosewood veneer in violet wood frames, opening with a doucine drawer, a flap revealing six drawers and five compartments, and two leaves at the bottom, and resting on four small, slightly arched legs. Gray-veined brown molded marble. Stamped by Pierre GARNIER, master cabinetmaker in Paris in 1742. Louis XV period. Bronze inserts. 140.5 x 82.3 x 37.5 cm. Cracks, accidents (flap compass and left leaf hinges torn off), missing parts (notably a compass).
