SPAIN, REIGN OF ALPHONSE XIII (1886-1931) Gilt bronze chamberlain's key. Heart-shaped ring with two leafy lion-headed terms, under a closed crown topped with a cross, and centered with the A and XIII (of Alfonso XIII) shouldered by the heraldic Lion and Tower of the Spanish coat of arms. Fluted stem with leafy rings, joined to the ring by a fleur-de-lys. Flat bit pierced by a bolted cross with two crossbars. One gilded brass pin on one side. Length: 12 cm. Some wear and minor knocks, notably to the crown, minor soldering spots; some oxidation spots. Provenance : Acquired in France from descendants of Spaniards who fled the arrival of Franco.
