Pair of porcelain covered vases or potpourris with gilt bronze mounts in the SEVRES style. Polychrome decoration of birds in reserves with gilded foliate scrolls or garlands on a turquoise-blue background. Large gilt-bronze mount, with scrolled acanthus-leaf handles. The ribbed baluster base is underlined by a plant frieze and rests on a square, fluted base supported by four Rocaille feet holding winged chimeras. Two seated putti leaning against each other holding a garland rest on a mound of acanthus leaves topped with flowers. 19th century, Napoleon III period. 60 x 41 x 24 cm. Wear to the gilding, a crack to the foot, an emerging crack to a neck, one bronze lid restored, the other slightly chipped.
