Jean GIONO (1895-1970) L.A.S. "Jean", Thursday, to his "dear Blanche" [MEYER]; 2 pages in-8. He is distressed to learn that Blanche is unwell and worried... He sends her some books in "registered packages. I'm putting in five or six very good detective novels. It's very relaxing to read them. I also choose pleasant books. This is no time to tire yourself out. If you continue to feel unwell, I'll entertain you at home"... Attached is a L.A.S. from MONTHERLANT.
