In pine and maple, with high, slightly curved back resting on four sword legs, seat upholstered in geometrically patterned gray and blue cotton fabric. A metal plate under each seat is marked Cranbrook 1929-1930 - Saarinen House - Side chair - made in Finland by Adelta Oy and numbered. H. 94.5 cm W. 42 cm D. 43.5 cm. Adelta edition. Wear, stains on upholstery and small chips. This chair was designed for Saarinen's family home in Cranbrook.
