Wrap-around hilt with three branches and circle with flaming grenade, openwork palmette top, stamped "VERSAILLES". Fusée covered with red-brown leather (replaced) and double braided brass filigree. Single-edged blade with two large hollow sides, two gutters and a flat back, marked "Manufre Imple de KLINGENTHAL Avril 1806". Brass scabbard with long red-brown leather crevices (replaced), two retaining rings and two bracelets, two iron rings; iron stinger. Blade length: 97.5 cm - Total length: 116.3 cm. Chips and a few cracks, some formerly restored, on the hilt; wear and rubbing on the leather; a few stains on the blade; dents to the scabbard, with some crushing.
