Manufacture d'Armes de Châtellerault Light cavalry saber, model 1822-82. Three-pronged brass hilt with short cap. Fusée lined with brown basane and braided brass filigree. Straight blade with two hollow sides, two gutters, one cutting edge and one flat back, signed and dated "9bre 1883", and counter-edge. Iron scabbard with one strap, cleaned. Guard and scabbard with the same number. Leather lanyard, cavalry model 1822. Blade length: 86.5 cm - Total length: 105 cm. A few knocks to the hilt and scabbard, the latter showing scratches and pitting.
