FRANCE, fin du XIXème siècle Manufacture d'Armes de Châtellerault Light cavalry saber, model 1822. Three-pronged brass hilt with short cap. Fusée lined with brown basane and braided brass filigree. Slightly curved blade with two hollow sides, two gutters, one cutting edge and one flat back, signed and dated "January 1881", and counter cutting edge. Iron scabbard with one strap. Blade length: 92.5 cm - Total length: 111 cm. Small welds to the filigree. A few knocks; scratches, pitting and rust on the scabbard.
