FRANCE, fin du XIXème siècle Manufacture d'Armes de Châtellerault Light cavalry saber, model 1822. Three-pronged brass hilt with short cap. Fusée lined with brown basane and braided brass filigree. Slightly curved blade with two hollow sides, two gutters, one cutting edge and one flat back, signed and dated "8bre 1875", and counter cutting edge. Iron scabbard with one strap. Hilt and scabbard with the same number. Blade length: 92.2 cm - Total length: 110.2 cm. Blade difficult to remove from scabbard. A few knocks, some deep on the blade; some scratches and pitting on the scabbard, particularly on the sting.
