Large bronze Marengo-style hilt with S-shaped crossbars, stylized wolf's head quillons, and curved pommel with lion's head and palmette, on a scale background; two brass chain branches. Moulded and squared blond wood spindle. Large escutcheon-like mounts with anchors on two crossed barrels. Strongly curved, single-edged, flat-backed blade with counter-edged tip. Brass sheet metal scabbard with one shoulder strap knob. Blade length: approx. 55 cm - Total length: 87.4 cm. Wear, scratches and knocks from use; small chip and play at the spindle; some oxidation on the scabbard.
