Silvered dial with fluted background, hour markers with Roman numerals and black-painted scale and dashes for the minutes. Bezel adorned with olives and pirouettes, surrounded by fillets edged with a frieze of prickly leaves, punctuated with scrolls and palmettes. Mechanical movement with key winding. Plate signed "A. Chaumont à Paris". Wire suspension. Rectangular molded base with acanthus leaf frieze, resting on leafy scrolls. 55 x 36 x 14 cm. Wear to the gilding, patina and dial; a motif between the horse's legs and to the reins are missing; some minor oxidation pitting.
