Léon DAUDET (1867-1942) Autograph manuscript signed, La Police politique, [1934]; 67 fol. pages in titled folder. This violent pamphlet against the Sûreté générale, a "criminal association", was originally entitled: La Fin de la République. Dans la boue et le sang; the title was crossed out in blue pencil and replaced by the definitive title and subtitle: La Police politique. Ses moyens et ses crimes. In it, Daudet evokes the day of February 6, 1934, the "insurrection of French Honor". The manuscript, in a folder with the corrected original title, in 6 chapters, shows erasures and corrections, with a few press clippings pasted into the text.
