Published by Nouvelle Librairie Nationale in 1914, these "souvenirs of literary, political, artistic and medical circles" (according to the subtitle) run from 1880 to 1885; Léon Daudet dedicated them to his mother. In them, he recalls his father Alphonse Daudet, Clemenceau, Zola, Flaubert, Goncourt, Mistral and the Félibres, the Lemerre bookshop, Drumont, Marcel Schwob, Claudel, the death of Victor Hugo, Princess Mathilde, and more. The manuscript, dated at the end of June 1, 1914, is complete, and includes the Introduction and the book's six chapters; it shows erasures and corrections.
