Ear-shaped bowl with rocaille decoration, with a doucine lid engraved with a frieze of leafy posts and shells with a grenade fretel. The bowl's ears and the lid's rabbet are later monogrammed "V.L.". Goldsmith's hallmark: Jean-François GOGUELIS, received as Master in Paris in 1762, and still active in 1793. PARIS Charge and Discharge marks for 1768-1774, on both parts, and Jurande for 1769 [F] on the bowl. The bowl is stamped with the Minerva mark, and the lid with the Crab mark. Total weight: 1,012 g. - Width: 31 cm. A few scratches and knocks, notably to the ears, and worn fretel threaded rod.
