Small soft bill, on a plinth with a pediment, in blackened wood veneer, decorated with gilded brass moldings and foliage and flower motifs in two-tone brass and mother-of-pearl engraved marquetry. A front flap, lined with purple velvet, revealing a rosewood veneered interior, presenting a pen tray, a mail sorter, partially openwork with scrolls and two molded glass inkwells, and a thin top drawer. Second half of the 19th century. H. 44.5 cm - Width : 33 cm - Depth : 15 cm. Some restorations to the veneer; some cracks; stains to the velvet; chips to the neck of the inkwells.
