A first edition copy, it presents its cream cover printed in red and black, the printed copy with the mention "Paris, imprimerie Chaix 15824-10-13", the mention chapter I instead of chapter II on p. 133. With an autograph letter from the author signed "en sympathique hommage" on the false title (the name of the person to whom it was addressed is erased). One of the 300 (or 400) copies on alfa satin paper printed especially for the author and for the press (with the mention " Exemplaire tiré spécialement pour l'auteur ", numbered (n°224). The only work completed and published during Alain-Fournier's lifetime who fell a few months later on September 22, 1914 at the age of twenty-seven.
