Published in 1925 by the Nouvelle Librairie Nationale, this book of political polemics will bear the subtitle : Panorama des hommes, des clans et des crimes, 1919-1923. Daudet wanted to bear witness to "what happened in the aftermath of the war". The manuscript presents erasures and corrections, and inserted press clippings.
