Long poem of 56 quatrains, published in Le Figaro of May 26, 1861, but not collected in volume. It is dedicated : " To my friend Castagnary ". "I want to make a comedy in the sentimental genre, a little dark, but very bold, that I will call "The Gods in the hospital". The manuscript shows erasures and corrections, a stanza in note, and three stanzas crossed out. On the back of the last page, one notices the title of the tale L'homme à la cervelle d'or, with that of the first part Les Éleveurs.
