Pair of small ormolu torches decorated with standing putti, one foot on a mound, holding a stem ending in a flower, forming a chased binet of foliage, and resting on a cylindrical base on a square plated solid Egyptian red porphyry pedestal, decorated with molded rings, laurel torus, pearl necklaces, and lions' heads with gilt bronze or brass chains. Late 18th or early 19th century. H. 30.4 cm. Wear to the gilding; some lion's heads to be reattached; chips and some flakes, notably to some edges of the bases.
