We will see with great pleasure next to the works of the academicians, those of a man whose talents, zeal, and knowledge have deserved all our esteem. I am very flattered in my particular that this matter has passed through my hands. March 11, 1768, as "vice president of the academy", signed by 5 other academicians. The "commissioners named by the academy to judge the dissertation which must be crowned this year in the public assembly of Easter" decide "that the price must be given to the dissertation which carries for sentence nothing is beautiful that the true one; returned in the academy the ticket was opened and we found that this dissertation belonged to Mr. the abbot of GOURCY"... Besides Malesherbes, the director BARTHELEMY, the commissioners BRÉQUIGNY, GARNIER and GAUTIER DE SIBERT, and LE BEAU secretary signed.
