He evokes in hushed tones the rallies to the Resistance: "Good news: now Mr. Teste [Paul VALÉRY] is one of us. There are others that are more difficult to express. But the holidays are coming soon, and I would like to send their gift to the children of Stanislas [Fumet] as I heard". He evokes the friends of Dieuelefit... "I read the letters of Mouchette [BERNANOS]: they interested me, but I confess that I believe them to be very outdated, incomplete as they are, and not very useful.
