Ecole de la première moitié du XVIIème siècle Portrait of a man with a strawberry. Oil on panel. Upper part cut out as a basket handle. Upper part made of wood and plaster (?) tinted black, added. Back hidden by nailed wooden boards. 57 x 54 cm. Wear, scratches, numerous repaints, small missing; upper element cracked, with cracks and missing, disintegrating. Old gilded wood frame with pearls and heart stripes (cut, wear). This portrait was probably set in a molded wood panel with a large frame, in a portrait gallery, as in the castle of Bussy-Rabutin (Côte d'Or).
