LA FAE Jean-François Leriget de (1674-1731) diplomate et poète [AF 1730, 13e f]. L.A.S. "De La Fae", Paris June 24, 1730, to his father-in-law; 1 page in-4. Yesterday he gave an account to the minister of the papers handed in by M. Brüant: 8 bound volumes, several manuscripts, nearly 40 plans. "Monseigneur has been kind enough to grant him the 500ll he asked for and has taken into account both the value of the papers and the work that Mr. Brüant had done and his situation. Very rare: "The letters of La Fae are untraceable in the trade" (Raoul Bonnet). Attached is a period copy of his letter in prose and verse to Mme D on the retirement and gout of the abbé de Chaulieu (4 pages in-4; presented as autograph by Étienne Charavay at the sale of the collection Feuillet de Conches, April 26-29, 1875, n° 410, bought by the marquis de Flers).
