Oeuvre sur bois Work on wood by Kokian "MAKA", mounted on a base /50 cm high. Kokian, a French artist born in 1971, is the worthy heir of the Neo-expressionist "Bad painting" inspiration, of which Basquiat is an example. After a period of graffiti and tagging in the streets of Paris, he went to New York in 1995 where he found his own style, offbeat, funny and confusing, like art brut. His colorful paintings mixing graffiti and slogans questioning the many injustices of society, have attracted the attention of contemporary art critics. Kokian's urban expressionism is recognized and can be found in many international collections. Value 2000€
