"Illustrious friend, many times you have given witness, by beautiful works, to the Catholic faith: recently again your Mass of the Sacred Heart was admired. Here is a work of edification, founded on the indestructible stone of Gregorian chant and its adjuncts, of the best tradition. He recommends that he read the Manual of the Reverend Father Joseph MOHR, "which should serve as a norm for musical worship in Catholic churches"... Attached is a note a.s., Friday (1 p. in-12) announcing to his "very honoured friend" his visit "between 6 and 7 o'clock".
