FRANCE, époque Consulat-Empire Rectangular solid mahogany and veneered dressing table opening with a drawer in the waist, resting on four pilasters joined by a hollowed out shelf in a semicircle, on four blackened feet, scratched at the front and turned at the back, and surmounted by a backsplash, darkened by a mirror, topped by a grey veined white marble top, supported by two Corinthian pilasters. Capitals, molded bases and handles with rings on plates in lion's head, in gilded bronze. 130.5 x 43 x 76 cm. Later marble top. Wear to the black patina, stains, some cracks, curling of the veneer, restorations notably to the veneer; chips to the marble.
