Manufacture nationale de Châtellerault Cavalry officer saber, model 1896, 1st Size. Bronze hilt with five branches and leafy pommel, with gorgon head. Horn fuse with twisted filigree. Straight flat-backed blade, signed and dated 1913, with two small hollow sides. Scabbard in iron sheet with a strap, repainted in burgundy. Brown leather scabbard (damaged). Blade length: 94.5 cm - Total length: 113 cm. Wear to the guard; some oxidation and scratches to the blade; some chips to the paint of the scabbard.
