Madame Charles was a member of the administrative staff of the clinic of Doctor Henri Dubois-Roquebert (the surgical clinic of Rabat, which later became the Hassad Tower Clinic). The latter was one of the personal doctors of his Majesties Mohammed V and Hassan II. It was in the context of her medical activities that Madame Charles met Gharbaoui in 1965 during a hospitalization of the painter.
