She begged him to have "pity on this poor house in which we are going to die of fain", not being able to enjoy the income from their lands occupied by "soldiers and coureux"; moreover, she found at her advent "labaye endebtee of ten thousand pounds, my lands all seized for the said debtes". She is in the greatest misery and begs to help her as "if donnoist laumone a ung pauvre" An engraved portrait of Mary of Rohan (1600-1679) is attached.
