BOVY BERTHE (1887-1977) L.A.S. "Berthe Bovy",[February 1930], to Christian BÉRARD; 4 pages in-8 in purple ink with letterhead from the Comédie Française. Very beautiful letter from the creator of La Voix humaine to the author of the set for the play[premiered at the Comédie Française on February 17, 1930]. She didn't tell him "all I owe you"... She quotes a letter she had received from Cocteau about Bérard and the setting: "Let's work together like we never did before". And she adds: "I know[...] all we owe you. I'm embarrassed at the thought of the gift you gave me at the Comedy, and every time I perform the play... when I'm alone locked in your little room, before the curtain rises... It is the atmosphere you have created that makes the miracle of duplication happen: I am with the bed with the chair a white value of your decor that comes to life in this small space invented by you... who says words limited by Jean - his wish is fulfilled - we collaborate like we have never collaborated"...
